Michalis Geranis

President of the Regional SWMA of Central Macedonia and President of the Municipal Council of Pylaia - Chortiatis

Born in 1965 and raised in Asvestochori, Thessaloniki, where he lives. He is married to Theodora Gerani - Giakoumi and they have 3 children, Zoe, Anastasis and Eleni.

He is a freelancer engaged in the cultivation of lavender and "Konstantis", fromKaravakia, the breath project that connects Thessaloniki with the nearby beaches.

Michalis Geranis was the last Mayor of Chortiatis with a term from 2003 to 2010. 1998 first Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Chortiatis, then President of the Municipal Council.

In 2002 he was elected Mayor of the Municipality of Chortiatis

 

2006 re-elected Mayor of the Municipality of Chortiatis

 

2009 Elected Chairman of the Board of the Network of Martyr Cities and Villages of Greece

 

2010 is elected first in votes Municipal Councilor of the unified now after Kallikratis Municipality of Pylaia - Chortiatis and is elected position of President of the Municipal Council.

 

In 2013 he was elected President of the Association of Local Authorities of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki

 

2013 April is elected first President of the New Regional Association of Solid Waste Management Bodies of Central Macedonia (FODSA).

 

2014 re-elected first in crosses Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Pylaia Chortiatis

 

2015 takes over the Chairman of the Board of the Municipality of Pylaia Chortiatis

 

2019 Re-elected first in crosses Municipal Councilor in the Municipality of Pylaia Chortiatis

During his tenure in the local government he was an elected member:

 to the board of directors of the Local Union of Municipalities and Communities (T.E.D.K.) of the prefecture of Thessaloniki and now to P.E.D. Central Macedonia, member of the General Assembly of the Central Union of Municipalities and Communities of Greece (KEDKE) and after Kallikratis in KEDE, member of the Board. of the Hellenic Society of Local Development and Self-Government (Ε.Ε.Τ.Α.Α.) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Network of Martyr Cities and Villages of Greece
