Eftichios S. Sartzetakis, Professor of Environmental Economics, Department of Economics, University of Macedonia. He has taught at Carleton University, Université Laval, University of British Columbia and Thompson Rivers University. His research focuses on environmental economics and management. He has published a number of papers in leading academic journals, he has served as member of the Editorial Board in a number of journals including “Environment and Development Economics”. He has delivered invited seminars at a number of Universities, including, University of British Columbia, Concordia University, Wageninegn Agricultural University, and Université Catholique de Louvain. He is leading a number of research projects on environmental economics and management. He served as Lead Author in a number of committees and international projects, such as the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, and national projects such as the Bank of Greece’s Study Group for the Impact of Climate Change. He served as expert advisor to private firms and public authorities both in Canada and in Greece. He has served in a number of academic administrative positions, including Vice Rector Research at the University of Macedonia, Chairperson of the Department of Economics and Finance, Thompson Rivers University, Director of the University’s Research Unit, the M.A. in Economics and the MSc in Law and Economics at University of Macedonia, and of the MSc in Sustainable Development at International Hellenic University.
