Mr Stathis Koutsochinas was born in Thessaloniki in 1974. He graduated from the Greek-French School 'Kalamari' in 1991. In the same year he was admitted to the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from which he graduated in 1995. He holds a postgraduate degree, LLM in Commercial Law (University of Kent - UK), while in 2004 he was awarded Doctor of Legal Sciences in the Commercial Law field of the Faculty of Law of Aristotle University, with Distinction. He is author of the book 'The protection of the Community trade mark and its limitations', while his articles have been published in Greek and foreign legal journals. Since 1997 he has been a lawyer in Thessaloniki. In 2007 he was promoted to a lawyer at the Supreme Court. In the same year (2007) he has been appointed a legal advisor of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Thessaloniki Bar Association for two consecutive terms (2011 to 2014 and 2014 to 2017), as well as Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Bar. Following the Bar elections in December 2017, he is currently the President of Thessaloniki Bar Association. He speaks English and French.
